Drew's soccer game!
Here is Grandpa and Hannah, two of Drew's fans! I was really horrible about taking pictures this weakend, but at least I got one of Hannah and Grandpa. And wouldn't you know it, the one day they are here for a visit it was cold... high of the low 60's and windy. That is really cold in October in Atlanta. Today was back in the 70's and back to the 80's later this week. The sun was shining though, and the skies were blue. Still a pretty day.
Towards the end of the first quarter after the first goalie wasn't paying attention and we were down 0-4 or something like that, they put Drew in goalie. Sure enough there were not any balls that were going to get past him. He will dive, run, jump and do whatever he needs to do to get the ball. No fear.
This picture is soooo Drew. He gets into the game and the coach was trying to tell him something. He puts his arms around the coach and his teammate and is ready to listen. Just looking at this cracks me up. He gets so serious out there.
Many times throughout the game Drew will say "hey coach, where should I go?" when it is corner kicks or goal kicks. Its good, he asks lots of questions and listens. He wants to learn and understand what to do.
Here he is on one of his many breakaways. Here is the good and the bad. Drew is an awesome little soccer player. He is fast, aggressive, strong and skilled. What he is not is a ball sharer. He will take the ball away from anyone who has it as he wants to be in the action at all times. I don't want to tame the excitement and the passion, but I also want to make sure the other kids have a chance to play too. So, we are working on it. In the mean time, he is my little David Beckham;)
