Two Peas in Pod

I thought these were too cute not to share. Last weekend Todd had gotten back from San Francisco working and visiting a friend. Hannah was sleeping then he got home. Shortly after he was home, we heard Hannah up... Dad peeked in her room after being gone for 4 days and Hannah starting shreeking with excitment and jumping up and down in her crib yelling Daddy!!  As many times as Todd has referred to that moment, I am pretty sure his heart melted a little with her excitement over seeing Daddy. Later that day, we went to our favorite park by our house. It was the last time for the season Hannah was able to play on the beach and in the water... we took walks and played on the playground as well. The leaves are starting to turn... and made for just a beautiful afternoon.  Note... on the first picture, when Hannah rides on Daddy's shoulders she holds onto his ears, it is pretty darn funny and cute. I tend to think it is cuter than Dad does :)

No need to cry over a little spilled milk...

As grandma Dice would often say when I was a little kid.... "No need to cry over spilled milk". Well, that is exactly what I thought when little miss independent decided she would only drink her milk in a real cup.. apparently she thought she was too big for a sippy cup.   I told Hannah she had to stay in the kitchen if she was going to drink out of her cup. She decided of course the newly carpeted family room would be a better option. So.. that is when I told her that horrible two lettered word "no". She instantly jerked her milk to the side trying to hide it so I wouldn't take it away... and well, look what happened. I honestly couldn't help but to laugh. The instant tears, the instant drama... I found it pretty hilarious.  Oh Hannah... little does she know, worse things in happen will eventually happen, even more dramatic than spilled milk :)

James J Hill Days in Wayzata

Last weekend we went to the James J hill Days in downtown Wayzata, just a few miles from our house. They had a kids carnival set up, arts and crafts, and some good ol'e minnesota style fair food. It was a beautiful fall day to just be outside and  walk around. Hannah got her very own balloon alligator made for her. She even tried to feed her alligator later when we had a lunch. After we walked through Wayzata, we headed to  Wayzata West Middle School ( where Hannah will attend one day) and they had their annual Doxin Races. Yes, you heard it right. I had no idea how many people had Doxin's... and how many people had special outfits for their doxin's either.  It was hilarious to watch, and I am something we will make an annual trip out of... more so for the people watching aspect. Too funny!

Safety First

All summer we have tried to get Hannah to wear her bike helmet so we can go for bike rides around our new neighborhood. We even bought her a new helmet with fish on it to entice her. Didn't work. All of the sudden, this week she has a new found love for her helmet and wants to wear it everytime we are outside, and bring it with us in the car. So, as we took a walk in the wagon a few nights ago, Hannah decided she wanted to wear her helmet there. ( it was a mix between embarrassing and just really funny). As we walked from our house to the park, many people  in the neighborhood had a smile on their face as we went by ( laughing at me or with me I am not sure?). Regardless, it was cute as she held her favorite teddy bear and went down slides and played on swings with her bike helmet :)

Corn Mazes and Pig Racing?

Check this thing out... To be perfectly honest, we didn't actually attempt the maze, but we hit every other activity the Sever's Corn Fall Festival offered. Dad was out of town this weekend, so Heidi,  Michael, Bella, Hannah and Mom hit the Corn Festival.  I had never been to one, so it was quite the Minnesota event.

Check out Hannah and Bella  A Cow and A Pig!

And... Mom and Hannah in a  Corn Pit? Ok, as bizarre as it might sound, it was actually kind of fun! It was like walking in quick sand, or you could say quick corn :).  We also spent a lot of time at the petting zoo with "exotic" animals including a camel, kangaroo, llama's, baby tigers, donkeys, monkey's and a mini horse. I tried to get Hannah to ride a pony, but she was a little scared of it. The finale of the evening was watching pig races. Can't say that I have ever seen a pig race before, so it kept my interest, it was kind of funny. Hannah loved and it had a great time at the festival. I have a feeling we will be back before fall is over.

Go Gators, Come on Gators, Get up and Go!

Our little cheerleader was working hard on saying #1 - Go Gators! She has the "Go Gators" down pat, however, #1 has been a little harder for her :) I have to say, as sad as I am to believe it, we have a little brain washed Gator on our hands. How did it happen, well let me think.... As memory serves, I would say it all started the day she was born.  Each time she sees an alligator, she does the Gator chomp. This happens at least a few times a day since Dad's wardrobe has an alligator on about 80% of the time. The days when there is not an alligator on his shirt, we get a shrug of the shoulders from Hannah saying "where gator"?  The funniest thing... last weekend Dad was a supportive Buckeye ( sorry Scottie) for the big game that didn't end so well.. anyway, Hannah looked at his shirt and saw Brutus, she started to whimper and say "no, no, no" wanting him to take his shirt off. As much as I didn't want to laugh, it was kind of funny. So Go Gators, good luck this weekend! May there be more luck ( and skill ) on your side than the buckeyes from the week past.!!

OH-NO Buckeyes!

Hannah's reaction to the game... ok, so this was before the game, but it was as if she knew had bad it was going to be....

Buckeyes first and only points on the board with the 1st qtr field goal, Hannah gasps with excitement, laughing at the OSU alumi club yelling and cheering.

And soon, O-H-I-O turned into OH-NO Buckeyes. What a rough game. We left the alumni club during the 2nd qtr to get Hannah to bed, and dream about the Buckeyes winning next year... ugh, it was ugly.

Hannah and Eleanor making the most of the last days of summer!

Eleanor & Hannah had so much fun this weekend. Kim and I took the girls to a park a lake by our house. They played on the swing sets, ran around ( a lot), had a picnic lunch and then went swimming and played on the beach. As you can see here, Hannah was loving Eleanor giving her a big hug.  They were very cute together... as Kim and I often said, Monkey See Monkey Do. They were pretty much two peas in a pod all day.

Minnesota State Fair 2008

Well, this years State Fair wasn't nearly as exciting as the last... no Vince Vaughn sitings. Hannah was't in a very good mood for this years fair either. We saw animals, went on rides, ate some corn and walked around. She wasn't liking riding in her stroller.. which made life a little difficult with the large crowds, and the fact she wanted to run everywhere.   She was her happiest eating some corn, and sitting on dad's shoulders. Dad swears he isn't going back there again until she is at least 5, but I am sure by next year we can sway him a little :)
