It's officially Todd and I's favorite week of the whole year! Vacation time. We work hard, and we like to play hard too! Todd and I look forward to our annual family beach vacation 51 weeks of the year, and this year of all years is no exception. We are ready to unplug the laptops, blackberries, iPhones, iPads.. you name it, we don't want anyone getting in touch with us this week :) We are ready to decompress. The fun started early this morning with a 4:30am wake up call to pack up the car and get o on the road for our 8 hr drive. The kids were awesome in the car and never cried, whined, anything. They were angels. We made a little detour on the way and headed to see Hannah and Drew's favorite animal, Winter the dolphin in clearwater, Fl. Winter is the dolphin from the movie Dolphin Tales which they both love. The dolphin was rescued after getting it's tail hurt and a prosthetic tail was created to keep Winter alive. Cute movie and great story.
There's Winter! Hannah and Drew have been talking about seeing Winter for months now. We told them we were going straight to the beach, when we arrived in the parking lots, we said we have a surprise for you, we are seeing Winter. Their reaction: "Oh, we wanted to just go to the beach". Awesome.
Here are our happy Winter fans :)
And finally, their awaited fun began. Not surprising, Drew managed to run, ok - lets say sprint, the length of siesta key beach today with mom or dad chasing after him yelling "stop, drewwwwww, stop - red light, stooopppppp". That was real fun. Let's just say we all got our exercise in for the day. I am considering taking Drew with me for my morning runs on the beach, no doubt, he would keep up with me just fine.
Hannah isn't exactly our runner, but she did a great job of collecting shells for about an hour and arranging them in the order she wants them. She has started her collection for the week and I am pretty certain we are going to be headed back to Atlanta with a car full of shells.
In the evening, we quickly got cleaned up and headed out to grab some pizza, as we were all starving! Here is my (I am biased, but really - he is adorable right?) little Drew.
My 3 favorite people.....
And my personal fan club. Love these little ones. I couldn't be luckier or more blessed to have such awesome kids. So excited for the rest of the week. We gave very strict rules to the kids for the week including: Have Fun, Laugh, Play, Swim, Build Castles, No Getting in the Water with a Parent, Take Good Naps, and No Fighting or Whining. As long as the stick to the rules, we are going to have a great rest of the week!
