Siesta Key Day 6 - Our last day of Vacation
Favorite picture! The last night on always like to do our traditional family photos in white at sunset, this year that weather did not cooperate. Gorgeous day with sunny skies until about 5pm and then it started clouding up, darn it.
Getting a picture of Drew is pretty much mission impossible. He gets his second wind each day around 5pm, then lucky for us, his third wind for the day around 8pm.
Hannah was being silly holding her arm out waiting for Drew to join her for a picture, funny enough he never showed up...
So she just went and found him, and tackled him to the sand. They laughed and had fun playing around. These were the best we could do! :)
Well, we had a great trip, and are sad the beach part is over. Tomorrow we are having lunch with Aunt Andrea on our way to see the Renick Family and look forward to spending the night with them. It was a nice vacation, and the first vacation in 5 years that did not include diapers, strollers, and a play yard. And.. the day did not revolve around nap time either. Even at Sea World yesterday I walked in with money in my pocket and my camera. All the sudden I had the realization, as Todd convinced me.. you can do this, you can go places empty handed now. It felt so weird, yet liberating at the same time. Diaper bag days are over, vacations are easier, kids are growing up. It was really fun to watch them this year, more time building sand castles, Hannah swimming like a little fish in the pool, Drew not having to be watched every minute with the fear of him eating sand and choking. It's been fun, I am not sure the word relaxing applies to this vacation as we have had little "down time" between family visiting and chasing the kids around, but it's been fun and memorable.
As Drew would say each night at the end of each day "Good night sun, Good night beach" Till next year!
