Tonight we attended our neighborhood Oktoberfest, our first annual, however a long standing neighborhood tradition. It was a ton of fun to meet even more neighbors and indulge in some beer, fun adult game and games for kids too. As you can see Drew and Hannah both had a ton of fun when it came time for "flour ball". Apparently a German, and Ashbrooke neighborhood tradition. They are a bunch of little balls filled with flour that you throw at each other. You can only imagine being a kid and being told to throw the ball at anyone you want and try to get them... all the kids were running around laughing and trying to get the adults.
If you notice, Hannah, almost untouched with flour. Drew was covered and took no prisoners. He had no problem running with the 8 yr olds and saying "I join' get ewe" We all got a kick out of him.
Drew's new little friend Harry and Conner... They had fun with all the flour. There were about 30 kids there under the age of 8 years old.. some of the middle school kids came too, we met a new potential babysitter we are pretty excited about. She is in 8th grade and plays a ton of soccer, she promises post soccer season she will babysit.
While Drew could had played flour ball all night, Hannah had more fun at the craft table one of the moms set up which the 3-6 yr old girls loved. They made kites, fall cards, and got their faces painted. Hannah chose a pink and purple butterfly. We are so excited for Hannah and Drew to meet so many new little friends, and a few little girls that will be in her kindergarten class next fall too. Now we just need some little 2 yr old boys to move in.
