We began our annual trip to Florida yesterday, and surprisingly made it in one piece. After two days of packing little ones, I was starting to wonder if all the extra effort was going to be worth the R&R. Two really large suitcases, two carseats, bottles, toys, diapers etc... we were off. We sat on the runway for an extra 45 minutes before take off, not what you want when traveling with a 3 yr old and a 6 month old. But, we realized maybe it was time perfectly when Drew wanted a bottle right at take off and soundly fell asleep in Dad's arms. It was great, Drew sleeping, and Hannah watching her DVD up until 20 minutes into the flight the really unkind flight attendant yells over Todd snapping open a Dt Coke yelling "peanuts, cookies or pretzels?" With a shhhsshh and a mean stare I said pretzels... and from that point on Drew was up for the rest of the day. Surprisingly, Drew operated on about 3 15 minute naps all day, and had a smile on his face throughout the flight and the arrival to Aunt Andrea's house. He was busy, and required constant moving and some pacing of the aisle, but smiled at everyone throughout the flight. Phew... we made it. Now we can look forward to sunshine and not worry about flying again for another 9 days.
