New Years Eve 2013!
It wouldn't be an official New Year's Eve with out a party at the Steinemann house! Some how we have become "the house" for neighborhood parties for the young families with kids, and another family seems to have the house for the parents of highschool/ college age. We ended up with about 50 people last night, half of which were kids between the ages of 8 weeks to 9 years old. Yes, it was chaos. Controlled chaos, but chaos none the less.
Todd did the little art work above on our chalk board in the kitchen, and we had a full bar going, tons of yummy food for adults and kids, and some good wii dance party competitions too. The adults mostly hung out in the kitchen, while the kids entertained themselves pretty well in the basement. No injuries, few tears, it was a success. Our final guests left about 3:45am, and a few girls spent the night. Woke up the giggling girls, and the fun started right back up. (yawwwnnnn). We are tired.
Here is a picture of Jonas, Jason and Todd. Early in the night, still solid and going strong.
A few pictures of the girls bringing in the new year. The crowd started to thin out by around 10:30pm as there were a lot of little ones that needed to go to bed. But some little ones, actually many of them stayed up till past 3am. It could had been the sugar and coke they were drinking?
Just a random picture of our kitchen, and some of the guests. Bill our neighbor who is in his upper 70's came and enjoyed the fun. He is one of the best neighbors a person could ask for. Can't find a nice guy. He walked in the door around 9pm and said "I heard there was free beer here?" Stayed for a few hours, and went him 5 minutes before midnight to ring in the new year with his family.
It was a really fun night, and when we were setting up Todd and I were commenting on how little work it was for this party. We got a few platters, cooked a few little things, set up a bar and there it was. Everyone brought a little something to share. It wasn't until we woke up in the morning and saw the mess we had to clean up, the floors that needed mopped, mess, lots of mess. But.. for now, its mostly under control and we have a little down time to watch football. Ahhh..
