Ashebrooke Oktoberfest 2013!
Today was the annual Ashebrooke Neighborhood Oktoberfest. This party gets bigger and bigger each year. We have had a lot of houses sell in the neighborhood this last year. Empty nesters moving out, young families moving in. Still not a lot of little boys Drew's age, but Hannah has it made with built in play mates every day. The event consisted of hay rides ( thanks to back of Jason's truck) hot dogs, face painting, beer, donut eating, pumpkin relays and flour tag.. and little crafts for the kids.
Lila, Hannah and Camden before the "hayride" in the neigborhood in Jason's truck.
We got a little vistor at the party. One of the neighbors came with their 12 week old little pug puppy. His name was Marvin, and well, lets just say Marvin was ADORABLE. Two little girls and a puppy = pure happiness. Marvin stole a lot of hearts tonight.
Drew and Mark partnered up for the pumpkin rolling relay. They were quite focused and wanted a gold medal.
This was hilarious. The donut eating contest. All the donuts were hanging on strings, and the kids couldn't use their hands.
Hannah opted out of this game, but Drew.. he was ll in. He actually started crying at one point he was so frustrated that he couldn't get the darn donut. He finally stood up, grabbed the donut and put the whole thing in his mouth and said "i won" as the majority of the donut was pouring out of his mouth. I made his spit it out in fear of choking. I love this photo though. Cracks me up. Lila took hers down. She came in second place.
Hannah loves flour tag. She remembered it from the last years and was talking about it all day. She was running after all the kids throwing it at them, and the parents too!!!
Drew was in full motion for flour tag too. No one was going to stop him!
Before we left, he got his face painted, he wanted to look like a soldier. Here is our little camo buddy.
The kids had a great time. They were exhausted tonight to say the least. They played outside all day today, and the party tonight... Drew was alseep in about 30 seconds once he crawled in bed.
Phew... what a fun weekend. Lots of good family time, and friend time tonight. Back for another week at work. I am tired thinking about it and it hasn't even started yet!!
