Today was an exciting day for Hannah, her best friend from school, Emmaline, came over to play. Emmaline's mom and I have been trying to schedule this for months, and finally found a day that it worked out. Hannah has been talking about this for two weeks, and she woke up this morning so excited she could hardly stand. No exaggerating, Hannah stood in front of the window waiting for Emmaline to arrive for about 45 minutes this morning. Every car that went by she shrieked with excitement thinking it might be her. Todd and I kept giving eachother looks thinking... please don't get phone call with them canceling, or worse.. what if they forget? Thankfully, they arrived and the minute Hannah saw her, she ran around the house screaming, jumping onto the couch kicking her legs, shaking with excitement... a similiar reaction one would have to winning the lottery. But for Hannah, all it takes is a play date with her best friend.
The girls had a great time, they played on the roller coaster, played dolls, doctor, kitchen, watched a little snow white, ate grill cheeses, played with chalk outside, red light green light, and I even made up a game consisting of chasing trees... it wore them down!
It was a great day, and we wish Emmaline would come over more often... Hannah was entertained, Drew was sleeping.. all we had to do was sit back and make sure no one got hurt and got into a scuffle. Life was good. For the first time in a long time, Todd and I didn't have to dress baby dolls all day :)
And the best part of the day... it hit 60 degrees! Everyone in the neighborhood was outside in shorts and flip flops!! Heat wave in Minnesota!!
