Here are a few highlights of our trip to Negril, Jamaica for Fall Break this year. It was kind of a last minute trip that ended up being a nice trip. We were a little worried about the tropical depression going into it, but overall had great weather and was a great week.
To say we were active is an under statement. The resort was practically empty and waterspouts were included. We took full advantage of everything the resort had to offer, no lines, no fuss, access anytime you want. Nice.... Hannah and Todd did a lot of paddle boading, and kayaking. Hannah and Drew and I did a lot of water trike and paddle board as well.
Yup, and here is Drew zip lining. He loved every minute of it!!! A big smile on his face.
The kids each got a float when we where there. Hannah got the turtle and Drew got a little boat with paddles. They were used every day and they loved them.
Todd got the chance to knee board, and I water skied. It was a lot of fun and I think we can both agree that water sports on an ocean is a lot harder than a lake. Not quite as many waves in the lake, or fear of wiping out when you see sting ray in front of you. Either way, I am sticking to lake sports.
This was one of the coolest parts of the trip. Tons of starfish. I found the one above just walking in the water. Close to shore were smaller ones and they move out further as they get bigger. I was lucky to find this one. We took a water bottom boat tour and you could see starfish everywhere, super cool.
The only time we left the resort was to to to Rick's Bar which is one of the top 10 bars int he world. It has 360 views of the ocean, and cliffs while people were cliff diving. It was pretty entertaining with amazing views.
The kids loved playing volleyball and soccer on the beach. At night they would get a pick up soccer game with other kids at the resort, it wa pretty cute.

One of Drew's birthday gifts is that he got to go to DJ Scratch Academy. He has been asking for DJ equipment for his birthday. Given he knows nothing about it and we don't even know where he came up with this idea, we thought a 2 hour DJ session would work. He got to learn all about it and mix 4 songs and scratch them. He loved it!
All in all, a great family trip. We relaxed, played, at way too much and got to spend a lot of quality time together. Now, back to reality of work and school!
