My first baby sitters

Well, it certainly didn't happen as we expected, but Hannah had her first babysitters yesterday. We were expecting our good friends Joe and Katie to come by to visit Hannah, but we didn't expect that Erin would try on her wedding ring and get it stuck (for those of you who know Erin well, you know this isn't a shocker).

While Erin was pregnant her fingers swell a bit and she hasn't been able to wear her ring for some time. Her band fit, but the engagement ring was still a bit tight. On Saturday morning Erin thought a quick shove past the knuckle would do it and it sure did! The ring slipped on and look great in place next to her band. Then her finger began to swell and turn a pretty shade of purple. After trying to loosen it's way off with baby oil, soap and even butter (Todd saw it once on the Brady Bunch or something) it wasn't budging and her finger was starting to hurt.

Just then, the magical doorbell rang and Joe and Katie appeared. We frantically explained the situation and they agreed to watch Hannah as we went to the jewelry store to get her ring cut off...yes, I said to get her ring cut off!

It was a quick trip and with the use of a swell tool and pair of pliers, the ring was off of her finger and we were at peace once again. No I won't scare you with the picture of the ring, cut and mangled, but they assured us it can be fixed and look like new.
